xiao mei mei
Left my house at 11.45am this morn to get some things done before heading for work.
Was walking pass by a few shops after buying a set of screwdrivers when my eye caught a small extended manicure/pedicure shop. Remembering that i have an appointment with Voxy Nail at Bugis and Good Earth Nail Spa at Plaza Singapura tomorrow and sat, i didn't bother to walk-in to enquire. But the prices caught my eye and i was considering of having my acrylic toe nails done there and then since i have ample time instead of waiting till tomorrow night during my dinner break. Halfway through fixing my acrylic nails, there was this little girl around 6-7 years of age who kept on peeping through the curtain and stare at me. She kept on staring at my face. She would run off and come back again staring blankly at me. The 4th time, i heard her whisper to a lady outside the shop, "Mummy mummy, that xiao mei mei can do her toe nails, i also want to do."

Obviously, she was pestering her mummy to let her have her nails done and have pretty pretty nail art on her little fingers. Then she drag her mummy into the shop and her mummy peep at me and i look up. Mummy then told her little girl, "She is not xiao mei mei, she is jie jie la." After they left, the lady doing my acrylic nails asked, "How old are you? You look so young?" I told her i am coming to 22. And she commented, "If it's not because of your height, i would have thought you are only 12, you really look like a xiao mei mei. Even that xiao mei mei just now mistook you as xiao mei mei." I just smiled.

Do i look that young? 12? Should i take it as a compliment or an insult?!
